My Go-to Green Smoothie Recipe

If you follow me on Instagram or watch my YouTube videos then you know I am a creature of habit 😅😬 What can I say, once I find what I like I stick with it and this green smoothie recipe is no exception!

I make this green smoothie EVERYDAY in my VitaMix because it tastes so good (I literally crave it) and it contains so much goodness! This green smoothie recipe is filled with healthy fats, fiber, greens, vegan protein (if you choose to add it in!), vital vitamins and nutrients, and all of the hydration for glowing skin! All of the powerful plant-based ingredients that are in this smoothie combo have been added in for a specific reason and together they taste amazingggg! I’ve shared my exact recipe below, but first lets chat about what makes each of these ingredients so powerful!

CHIA SEEDS

Chia seeds are a great source of fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, calcium and iron! I like this brand of chia seeds, or I occasionally just buy them at Trader Joe’s!

FRESH SPINACH

Spinach is an absolute superfood! Spinach contains chlorophyll, beta carotene, zeaxanthin, lutein – all of which can help boost your immune system and improve your eyesight. It’s also high vitamin A, C and K, magnesium, iron and manganese. This leafy green is good for your skin, good for the gut and digestion, and just good for the body overall! I personally LOVE greens and veggies but if you’re not, don’t worry – you can’t even taste the spinach in this smoothie!

COCONUT WATER

Coconut water contains natural electrolytes which makes it super hydrating (our body is made up of 70% water so staying hydrated is a must for overall good health!) Coconut water contains other vital minerals and nutrients like potassium, magnesium and calcium. And it also contains natural antioxidants which makes skin glowy and happy! Just make sure you get one with no added sugar!

RAW COCONUT BUTTER

Raw coconut butter tastes amazing, but it’s in this smoothie for more than just the taste: it’s packed with healthy fats which helps with brain function, skin health and makes you feel fuller for longer. and I also recently learned that it’s rich in lauric acid, which boosts immunity and destroys harmful bacteria, viruses, and funguses! This is my FAVORITE raw coconut butter to use in my green smoothies!

ALOE VERA JUICE

Aloe vera has so many incredible benefits; it’s ultra hydrating, contains high levels of magnesium (which is a vital nutrient for nerve and muscle use), it’s anti-inflammatory, helps with digestion (it helps move things through if you know what I mean 😉) plus it has anti-bacterial properties. This is the aloe vera juice I use in my daily green smoothie!

PINEAPPLE

Pineapple is rich in antioxidants and is loaded with nutrients! It also contains naturally occurring enzymes, acts as an anti-inflammatory and of course, tastes amazing!

BANANA

Bananas are rich in potassium (potassium helps your nerves to function and muscles to contract + s many other incredible body healing benefits), fiber and natural sugars which sweeten this smoothie perfectly and gives it a subtle creamy texture.
