ENERGY CLEARING

Spring is here, and I couldn’t be more grateful or excited for all of the fresh energy it’s bringing! Spring just has a newness to it with all of the fresh blooms, expansive days and fresh energy. Spring is the epitome of a fresh start. So let’s get at it, align with the rhythm of nature and EMBRACE it bb. I’m all about creating space, letting go, cleansing and hitting the refresh button whenever it’s needed all year long, but spring is a particularly powerful time to focus on this because we are working with the rhythm of nature and tapping into the universal flow and energy of Mother Earth herself.

Everything in this world is made up of ENERGY! You, me, the device you’re reading this blog post on, the chair you’re sitting in, the sounds you hear, the food you eat, the thoughts you think; it’s all energy! Everything is vibrating at its own frequency.

It’s majorly important to become aware of not just your own energy, but the energy of the things and people around you! We really do become what we surround ourselves with, so after a year of officially being in a pandemic, it is time for a big spring check-in and cleanout, ya feel me? Ya know, just to make sure your energy is feelin’ FRESH; out with the old, and in with the new! Before I get into this I do want to say that all of these tips and techniques can be utilized in any and all seasons, not just spring 😉 I was just inspired to expand on this now with today being the Spring Equinox!

Okay, let’s dive in! To kick start this, let’s get super literal and begin with YOU and YOUR energy. Here is a little breakdown of my favorite energy clearing tools to embrace those fresh new vibes:

  • Palo Santo: Palo Santo means “holy wood” and has been used by indigenous people for centuries to clear out the bad juju so-to-speak. Turn on your favorite music, embody some high vibe feelings, and focus on pushing the negative energy out while letting the smoke from the Palo Santo flow around you. I LOVE the smell of Palo Santo, the smell alone raises my vibes. I actually light mine each morning to set the tone for my high-vibe morning routine!
  • Crystals: There is a cross-section of science and mystic here. Think about it… crystals were formed millions of years ago. There is a lot of power and energy in that! This could be an entire blog post in itself. For brevity’s sake, crystals absorb information and pass it to those who come into contact with it. Powerful clearing crystals to get your hands on? Rose Quartz, Clear Quartz, Selenite and Amethyst. Keep these in your space, fiddle with them in your hands, and create rituals to absorb all they have to give you. If you’re wanting to learn more about crystals I had crystal expert Heather Askinosie on The Yoga Inspired Life Podcast and she shared soooo much crystal wisdom goodness in the episode!
  • Megahertz Music: There’s a great article which I’ll link here for you all about the healing effects of sound if you’re keen to learn more, but I love to listen and play Megahertz music to raise the energetic vibration in my space and let my own energy absorb it too. When played, this high vibe music helps clear any stuck, stagnant or heavy energy. This is a great one to add to your daily morning or nighttime routine. I have an energy clearing playlist up on Spotify that you can use, just click here!

Now that we have tools to cleanse your energy at an internal level, let’s talk about how your energy is influenced by your environment. Toxic environments, whether that be at work, our living situation (hi shitty roommates), or simply where we choose to spend our time, breed negative energy. It’s nearly impossible to show up as your best self if you’re constantly in toxic situations and environments. To identify if any of your environments are toxic, do the following activity:

  1. List all the environments you spend your time in (home, work, free-time, hobbies, rooms in your house, car, etc.).
  2. Next to each environment, rate how negative to positive (with 0 being the most negative to 5 being the most positive) each domain feels.
  3. Now next to each positive environment (the fours and fives), write why they feel so good to you. These aspects you list are what give you energy!
  4. Now look at the hostile environments (the zeros and ones) and identify what they are lacking.
  5. Brainstorm what you could do to change those factors!

Once you know what needs to be changed, it’s time to make a choice: make an action plan to change it, make a conscious effort to no longer be a part of that environment. Keep in mind though: whatever you are not changing you are actively choosing. I know leaving a living situation or job can be challenging, but it doesn’t serve you if it drains you. Start figuring out precisely what it would take for you to say goodbye to it and take small action steps every day to do so.

You also will be opening space in your life for the birth of something NEW. That is the magic in clearing out your energy. It lays out a golden platter for the rest of your life to manifest on!

I want you to do that exact exercise above again but with people. List every single meaningful relationship in your life and rate them on an overall basis ( I say overall basis because we all have our moments, and moments are moments but repeated behavior is a characteristic). Identifying this time how inspiring and fulfilling they make you feel, vs. empty and draining. This is so important because as hard as it can be to recognize, some relationships fill us up and encourage us to show up as our best selves while others inadvertently hold us back.

Jim Rohn famously stated, “You’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” The science behind this is known as the Law of Averages. This theory states that the result of any given situation will be the average of all outcomes.

But how does this relate to your energy to family and friends? Well, these people either raise your average or lower it. Simply speaking, your vibration is either raised higher or lower by them. These people matter! So if they are not making your energy vibrate at a higher frequency, the majority of the time, it is time to evaluate the relationship, my dear.

I know starting fresh and making friendships in adulthood is intimidating, so below are a few ideas to get you started. I promise you when I say from experience getting your energy to a high-vibe place, even when that means starting over in adulthood, is 1000 times WORTH IT. I promise you it is better than staying low-vibe forever. Here is how to make new friends:

  1. Add people who inspire you and display your vibe on socials! Comment, message, and engage genuinely with them.
  2. Go to environments where those kinds of people are at! Think wellness events, workout studios, coffee shops/cafes, and masterminds.
  3. Ask the positive relationships you do have for connections! See if a lunch of covid-safe gettogether can be set up. High-vibe people know more high-vibe people.

Step 1 is putting yourself out there with all the ideas. And the only thing that will hold you back from that is YOURSELF. Simply show up, babe! You’ll bring all the positive and cleansed energy with you, and people will magically be attracted to you. I have said it before, and I will repeat it: LIKE ATTRACTS LIKE.

Spring is here, and with it, a breath of fresh air. Pull out the palo santo and crystals, do a check-in with your environments, and make sure your 5 closest relationships raise your vibration! Often we spring clean, but this year, we are taking it a step deeper and doing the real work: spring cleaning our energy. Because this year is the year to build your bliss bb! And look at your doing it already! PS: I just posted a spring cleaning vlog on my YouTube channel so if you’re looking for some spring cleaning inspo head to my channel and clean your space, body, mind and energy with me!
