You may or may not know this about me, but I am a total book nerd. I absolutely LOVE learning and expanding my consciousness; and reading is a fabulous way to do both of those things. When I was first starting my yoga and spiritual journey I wanted to learn everything I could and read as many yoga books as possible, but I didn’t know what books to read, or what to even search for in Google. One thing I have always done (and continue to do) is ask other people I look up to for their book recommendations- it’s a great way to discover new books! I remember emailing my first yoga teacher, Travis Elliot, one day after class asking for recommendations on books, and the book he told me to read was the Bhagavad Gita – I can’t believe that was all the way back in 2009! In the 8 years since then I have read the Bhagavad Gita a few times, and I have no doubt I will read it at least a few more times in my lifetime. Along the way I have collected more books than I’d like to admit, but there is a small stack of books that I always go back to time and time again.
So here are a few of those books from my small stack of coveted reads.. some of these books are actual yoga books, and some are more geared towards self-development- but all are powerful reads that will inspire you to grow your yoga practice, live in the present moment, be your best self, and live in a more mindful, intentional way.
I should also note: these are in no particular order 🙂
