The Yoga Inspired Life Method: Reset to Reconnect

Your next big idea and the inspiration you’ve been searching for is already inside of you. I repeat, YOU ALREADY HAVE IT IN YA BB! The key here is learning how to access it. You may be saying to yourself, “well, if it was that simple, Shayla, wouldn’t I have it already?!” That’s the thing…it’s not that easy, love. Because 9/10 times, it’s covered in layers of conditioning, self-doubt, fear, and straight up muck. You have to reset to reconnect, which entails doing the work to pell back all of the layers. Only then can you tune in enough to listen to that inner voice inside of you who already has all the answers, baby girl. 

Reset To Reconnect is a go to method I’ve been using for YEARS, and it is the foundation of my program, The Yoga Inspired Life. Lucky for you, today, I will break down the steps of how to do this and why this method is the one of the keys to becoming the very best version of yourself. Reset To Reconnect is about massively overhauling your life. It’s about identifying what’s serving you and what’s not, getting clear about what in your life is working for you and what’s not, and it’s about you getting really honest with yourself about what you need to let go of, and more importantly what you need to add more of! Awareness is where change is sparked! 

In The Yoga Inspired Life Program, I break it down into six foundational steps:

Step 1: The Purge List: identify things in your life that are causing stress, unhappiness, or discomfort. 

Step 2: The Lack List: this can be summed up by one question, “What am I missing?”. 

Step 3: Brainstorm the things you are lacking (aka the list above). What is stopping you from having these things? 

Step 4: Identify your limiting beliefs. Our beliefs shape our reality. Which subconscious or conscious beliefs are holding you back from the life you are meant for?

Step 5: The Joy List: name all the things that bring you bliss. 

Step 6: The Keep List: what is positively serving you? 

But what does taking these steps do?

Whether we want to admit it or not, most of us are holding onto a lot of extra “stuff”…. physically and energetically speaking. When we get a new coach, we let go of the old one. Why do we not do this in every aspect of our lives? 

To bring in the new, we must clear out the old. This is so important in our physical space but also in our beliefs, thoughts, and values. Cleanse your space. Cleanse your schedule. Pull out the palo santo. This is all about making space for the goodness you are about to bring into your world. 

Our thoughts determine our actions. And believe it or not, our subconscious mind runs the majority of the show. Our brains are designed to keep us safe, and safe on a very basic level usually means stagnation and comfort aka no change. Yes, change brings along it’s friend risk, but risk doesn’t always mean danger! Oftentimes, when we try to create change, our reptilian brain kicks in, triggers a flight or fight response and is like OHHHHH NO, THIS IS NOT OUR USUAL ROUTE, THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS, LET’S NOT DO THIS… and then my friends, we slink back and remain the same. If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you always got (I believe the great Tony Robbins said that, but don’t quote me!) and that simple, but powerful truth is why the deep work being done in the Reset to Reconnect method is vital.

When we reset to reconnect, we are literally rewiring the beliefs that control our thoughts, words, and actions. 

The words you speak and the thoughts you think reflect how you feel, how you feel defines your actions, and your actions have a direct effect on your reality. This is why in TYIL, I provide you with the tools to literally change your mind. If you change your mind, you change your life. 

I guide you towards resetting to reconnect to the deepest, most authentic, and purest form of who you are. That way, you can tap into that part of you where your next big idea is screaming out to you. The inspiration is so rampant, it cannot be ignored. You come into your power. Which, again — has been in you all along.
